Work-Based Learning

Our Mission:
To provide students with disabilities in District 75 the tools, experiences, and support they need to make successful transitions from school to adult life — with dignity, purpose, and possibility.

District 75 Transition & Post-Secondary Internship Program

Building Pathways to Independence, Employment, and Empowerment

District 75’s Transition & Post-Secondary Internship Program is dedicated to preparing students with disabilities for meaningful, independent lives beyond high school. Through targeted internships and work-based learning experiences, we equip students with the real-world skills, confidence, and support they need to succeed in employment, higher education, and adult life.

Our program connects students to internship opportunities across a wide range of industries — from retail and hospitality to healthcare, technology, and public service. These placements are thoughtfully matched to students’ interests, strengths, and goals, ensuring a purposeful experience that fosters both personal and professional growth.

With the guidance of transition coordinators, educators, and job coaches, students receive individualized support as they develop workplace readiness skills such as communication, time management, teamwork, and self-advocacy. Beyond career exploration, the program empowers students to envision and pursue their own unique post-secondary paths.
