Transition Planning Workshop Series Disability Programs and Student Inclusion Initiatives at The City University of New York (CUNY)

Transition Planning Workshop Series

Disability Programs and Student Inclusion Initiatives
at The City University of New York (CUNY)

CUNY is dedicated to ensuring equal access and opportunities for students with disabilities
through innovative support programs based on best practices in postsecondary disability services.
These programs aim to support the academic success and personal development of students
with disabilities.

Each CUNY campus has an Office of Disability Services, managed by a director who coordinates
reasonable accommodations and support services for students. The offices verify students' needs
for these accommodations and provide counseling, referrals, and essential auxiliary aids and
services. These include assistive technology, note-taking services, readers, sign language
interpreter services, distance learning resources, priority registration, and alternative testing
arrangements.

During the presentation, you will learn about the accommodations available to students
with disabilities at CUNY, along with programs like CUNY LEADS, CUNY Unlimited,
Project REACH, and Adaptive Sports.
