Citywide and Education Council Elections
The CEC Elections page should be kept but updated to reflect information about the CEC in general. The reason is that election season picks up again in another year or so and you'll need to update it once more. Families can get the info below on the NYCPS website, but at the very least we can provide them the direct links. Thank you!
Community Education Councils
Community Education Councils (CECs) are comprised of volunteer parents and community leaders dedicated to supporting local district schools to improve student achievement. There are 32 CECs in New York City, one for each Community School District. Each CEC represents current Pre-K through 8th-grade students in NYC Public Schools within its district. The current 32 CECs are listed below.

Citywide Education Councils
The Citywide Education Councils are comprised of volunteer parents and community leaders, who are responsible for advising and commenting on educational policies that involve the student communities they represent; issuing an annual report on the effectiveness of the New York City Department of Education (NYCDOE) in providing services to the represented student communities; and holding at least one public meeting per month during which the public may discuss issues facing high schools (CCHS), English Language Learners (CCELL), and students with disabilities (CCSE and CCD75).
