Queens Deaf and Hard of Hearing Education Services (DHHES) Programs
Related Services: Provides a teacher of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing to students based on Individualized Education Program (IEP) mandates. Please contact borough based DHHES supervisor(s) for questions and support.
Self-Contained Specialized Classrooms: Students attend based on IEP recommendations. Elementary and middle school classrooms are a maximum of 12 students with 1 teacher of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing and 1 paraprofessional (12:1:1). High school classrooms are a maximum of 15 students with 1 teacher of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing (15:1).
