District 75 delivers highly specialized, individualized educational programs for students with significant challenges, such as autism, cognitive delays, sensory impairments, and emotional or multiple disabilities, across New York City. These services are offered in diverse settings, co located classrooms, dedicated school buildings, hospitals, agencies, and in home environments, ensuring each student receives the tailored support they need.

District 75 provides a wide spectrum of highly specialized services, including small ratio instructional settings, Speech Language and occupational/physical therapies, travel training, vocational and daily living skills instruction, and related health and behavioral supports, all tailored to meet each student’s Individualized Education Program (IEP) goals.

District 75 provides quality and rigorous individualized educational programs to students with significant challenges and diverse learning styles. The needs of students are met in a variety of settings that nurture independence, ensure dignity and support integration into the community. Students are referred to a specific class ratio by the Committee on Special Education.

Families
District 75’s Family Support and Engagement team collaborates with community-based partners to provide citywide workshops and resources that nurture student growth and empower families. At the local level, our schools host workshops tailored to neighborhood needs, covering practical topics like literacy, behavior support, IEP understanding, and community services, to ensure families receive relevant, accessible support where they live.

Literacy

My name is Katie Papaccioli, and as a District 75 Literacy Coach, I am dedicated to supporting schools in creating equitable and meaningful literacy experiences for students with disabilities. I partner with educators and school leaders across the district to strengthen instructional practices through coaching, professional learning, and collaborative planning. My work focuses on helping teams implement evidence-based literacy practices that promote access, communication, and academic growth for the diverse learners we serve throughout District 75.

Throughout my 12 years in education, I have worked in Pre-K settings, 6:1:1 early childhood classrooms, and as a school-based coach supporting alternate assessment students in grades K–8. These experiences have provided me with a strong foundation in early literacy development, behavior support, and inclusive instructional practices, and the belief that every student deserves high-quality literacy instruction that fosters growth, independence, and a lifelong love of learning.In addition to my certification in Early Childhood Special Education, I hold a master’s degree in Applied Behavior Analysis and am a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA). Outside of work, I enjoy reading, going to the beach, and spending time with family and friends.

I am honored to be part of the District 75 community and to support students in becoming successful readers through accessible, engaging, and meaningful learning opportunities.
